Job description

Position Overview

Position Summary:

The Field Service Technician will provide comprehensive technical service support for all Toner Based Equipment sold by Fujifilm. This position will be responsible for providing superior service to internal and external customers to ensure that equipment operates properly and meets established quality and reliability levels. The ideal candidate will be located in the Greater Toronto Area in Ontario or Montreal and surrounding areas in Quebec.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site support installations and service repair to customers.
  • Provide solutions to complex service issues.
  • Maintain close communication with Regional Service Manager, and the Technical Support team to ensure accurate resolution of service issues.
  • Develop strong working relationships with customers.
  • Perform pre-installation assessment and site inspection of equipment in accordance with FUJIFILM equipment requirements.
  • Complete and submit service activity information and paperwork timely to the appropriate group/department.
  • Monitor and manage the return of all parts.
  • Manage and complete all Preventative Maintenance requirements.
  • Attend training classes (locations throughout the world), to stay current on both new and existing products.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to other Customer Support staff, as required.
  • Assist Sales team with product demonstrations and/or customer visits as needed.
  • Monitor critical accounts and actively participate in support activities to accomplish quick and effective problem resolution.
  • Communicate technical issues to the Technical Service Manager and technical support group.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the manager.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and overtime required as needed for installations, service calls, and training.

Job Description

Skills/Education:

  • 5+ years of previous experience with installations, maintenance, and/or repair of toner-based equipment or devices.
  • An electronics or mechanical engineering degree or equivalent in field experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Demonstrate initiative and an aptitude to learn and continually improve.
  • Strong technical aptitude in mechanical and electronics.
  • Ability to evaluate and resolve print quality issues.
  • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft OS and Adobe Suite of products.
  • Prior experience with Colour Profiling and a variety of RIP stations would be an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally in Canada, and other travel as required.
