The primary function of the Field Service Technician is to provide responsive service, ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of industrial air compressors, while building strong relationships with our customers located in the BC Lower Mainland region.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with previous experience in a Service Technician role or similar. Previous compressed air knowledge is an asset; however, we will provide all necessary training to become a factory-certified Ingersoll Rand Technician. Key responsibilities:
- Equipment installations, start-ups, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of compressed air equipment.
- Create a friendly and inviting working environment.
- Effective communication with customers and coworkers, both verbal and written.
- Maintain rapport with customers by addressing complaints, identifying solutions, and suggesting improvements.
- Recommending parts and services, and assisting with follow-up to ensure customer approval.
- Work with internal teams to obtain parts and materials.
- Adhere to safety standards and procedures in changing environments.
- Travel daily within BC Lower Mainland and occasionally to surrounding areas.
- Participate in rotation-based on-call service, including after-hours call-outs.
- Understand electrical wiring schematics and diagrams.
- Document service activities accurately via work orders and checklists.
- Promote company products and solutions to increase customer awareness and value.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma; post-secondary or technical training preferred.
- Previous industrial air compressor experience is an asset; training provided for suitable candidates.
- Experience in mechanical, millwright, HVAC, electrical/electronics, or CNG is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of AC/DC circuits, wiring diagrams, motors, controls, PLCs, HVAC, and refrigerant systems is preferred.
- High integrity and ethical standards.

- Use of diagnostic tools and understanding of manuals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with mobile devices.
- Own set of standard tools; company supplies specialty tools.
- Ability to work in diverse conditions, including noisy, hot/cold environments, and at heights.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform manual tasks.
- Adherence to safety and PPE standards, including grooming requirements for certain sites.
- No criminal record.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record; driver’s abstract required.
- Willingness to undergo training, including travel to training facilities and possibly across Canada and US.
- Valid Canadian passport required.
- Workplace is alcohol and drug free.
- Position based at our Surrey, BC head office.
