Job Summary:

As a Field Service Lead , you will perform the general duties of a Service Technician and be responsible for the general oversight of designated technicians during service jobs.

Job Duties:

  • Routinely performs the normal duties of a Service Technician
  • Performs the common administrative functions required of personnel in a team lead capacity
  • Coordinates with the Service Manager or personnel at the main office to schedule service calls or projects. Assigns and performs duties to team members.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment changes or modifications through various resources such as training seminars, maintenance manuals, and service bulletins, or engineering documents, as well as individual research and other correspondence
  • Responsible for knowing and complying with all service policies and procedures
  • Keeps Service Manager informed of all significant problems and progress of resolutions
  • Oversees, coordinates, assists, and trains Service Technicians
  • Endeavours to maintain good employee morale, enthusiasm and cooperation
  • Promotes preventive maintenance programs for present and future customers and schedules the same
  • Makes periodic “courtesy calls” for all new customer locations to develop good rapport, constantly striving to provide outstanding service and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Responsible for the timely return of warranty parts in his/her service area
  • Ensures proper inventory levels of parts and supplies are maintained in all service vehicles and warehouses
  • Comply with all applicable OHSA, ESA and other provincial regulatory laws, as well as company safety policies
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Service Manager or Senior Executive team.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • An Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical/trade school preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a field technician in a related area
  • Minimum of 3 years of Industrial Mechanical, Pneumatics, and PLC experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of Electrical Experience - including 3 phases
  • Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to train, organize, lead, and motivate a team to succeed
  • Must have a clean driving record with no more than three (3) moving violations within the past 5 years; no more than two (2) preventable, at-fault accidents within the past 5 years
  • No impaired driving convictions within the past five (5) years and no charges currently pending
  • Intermediate computer skills and email communication

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift items of light to heavy weight, up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to bend intermittently and repeatedly stoop, kneel, reach, twist, perform repetitive motions, using hands to grasp, push, pull, or do fine manipulations, climb ladders, and stand for prolonged periods

Work Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and rotating weekends
