Field Service Technician - Journeyman - Edson
Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Technician role includes, but is not limited to operating a field service truck to complete day-to-day field maintenance services, warranty repairs, troubleshooting equipment performance issues, and performing overhauls on natural gas equipment such as engines, compressors, power generation, and related machinery at customer site locations.

This position is located in Edson, AB.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform all work safely, following company HSE policies.
- Work on medium to large stationary natural gas equipment, including engines, compressors, pumps, valves, coolers, panels, generator packages, and related machinery.
- Travel across Alberta by plane or vehicle to conduct preventative maintenance, repairs, and overhauls at customer sites.
- Complete repairs and overhauls within established time guidelines.
- Troubleshoot machinery and equipment malfunctions with high attention to detail.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Collaborate with the Service Manager on repair strategies and customer quotes.
- Mentor apprentices and support team knowledge sharing.
- Maintain positive professional relationships with customers and internal teams.
- Participate in training for career growth.
- Be available for on-call after-hours support as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of field service experience.
- Valid Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic, Natural Gas Compression, Automotive, or Millwright Certificate.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel long distances.
- Knowledge of engine, generator, and compressor operations; experience with Arial, Jenbacher, Waukesha, and Cat is an asset.
- Experience with high voltage, non-diesel generators, automation, controls, or PLC is an asset.
- Computer proficiency and SAP experience are assets.
- Self-motivated team player with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Clean driver’s abstract required at hire.
- Ability to pass pre-employment health assessments, including drug and alcohol tests.
