Field Service Technician - Journeyman - Slave Lake

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Technician operates a field service truck to perform daily maintenance, warranty repairs, troubleshooting, and overhauls on natural gas equipment including engines, compressors, and power generation units at customer sites.

This position is based in Slave Lake, AB, and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform work safely according to company HSE policies.
• Work on medium to large stationary natural gas equipment, including engines, compressors, pumps, valves, and related machinery.
• Travel across Alberta for preventative maintenance, repairs, and overhauls at customer sites.
• Complete repairs and overhauls within established timeframes.
• Troubleshoot machinery malfunctions with attention to detail.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Collaborate with the Service Manager on repair strategies and customer quotes.
• Mentor apprentices and share knowledge with team members.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Participate in training for career development.
• Be available for on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' field service experience.
• Valid Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic, Natural Gas Compression, Automotive, or Millwright certification.
• Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel long distances.
• Knowledge of engine, generator, and compressor operations; experience with Arial, Jenbacher, Waukesha, and Cat is an asset.
• Experience with high voltage, automation, controls, or PLC is an asset.
• Computer skills and SAP experience are assets.
• Self-motivated team player with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills.
• Clean driver’s abstract required at hire.
• Ability to pass health and drug tests.
