Job summary

Randstad Canada is seeking a Field Service Technician to support industrial food processing and bakery equipment across the GTA. The role is based in Mississauga with a day shift, travel to client sites, and in-shop rebuilds at the Mississauga hub.

You will troubleshoot 480V/600V systems, perform preventative maintenance, and clearly explain repair plans to site managers while maintaining safe, high-quality workmanship. A valid Ontario license is preferred and overtime applies.

Qualifications

• 3-Phase Electrical Diagnostics: 3+ years of experience with high-voltage industrial systems (480V/600V), VFDs, control panels, and reading ladder logic/schematics.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Experience maintaining drive chains, belts, gearboxes, bearings, and pneumatic/hydraulic components.
• Autonomous Work Ethic: Ability to work independently in the field and diagnose complex faults.
• Driver’s License: Valid Ontario G driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Education & Assets: Millwright (433A) or Electrician (309A/442A) license is an asset, with strong hands-on mechanical/electrical troubleshooting experience as a plus.

Responsibilities

• Live Diagnostics & Repair (35%): Respond to emergency breakdown calls at bakeries and food plants; troubleshoot 480V/600V circuits, MCCs, VFDs, transformers, heaters.
• Preventative Maintenance (25%): Inspect and service heavy machinery like dough mixers, ovens, proofers, chillers, slicers, conveyors.
• Field Travel & Customer Service (20%): Travel to GTA facilities; act as the technical face of the brand; manage work orders and explain repair plans.
• In-Shop Rebuilds (10%): Overhaul and assemble components at Mississauga facility using precision tools.
• Paperwork & Technical Support (10%): Log notes, read schematics/PLC lights, report worn parts.
