Job summary

Jobtailor in Fort McKay, Alberta, is seeking a Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician to service Liebherr machinery and components. You will troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, perform maintenance, repairs, overhauls, and commissioning, and complete detailed service reports.

The role requires reading schematics, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work independently on a 14-on/14-off schedule with 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician.
• Comfortable working on a 14-days-on / 14-days-off schedule, with 12-hour shifts.
• Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components.
• Demonstrated diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, component exchange, repair and warranty related activities.
• Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings.
• Ability to effectively communicate detailed and complex information in a clear and concise manner.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work alone, unsupervised for extended periods of time.
• Fully proficient with computers and Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, inspect and diagnose Liebherr machinery and components, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engine and gearbox/drivetrain systems.
• Perform machinery preparation, scheduled maintenance, repairs, overhauls, component replacement, commissioning and adjustments.
• Recondition and repair equipment components and systems.
• Perform pre-delivery inspections and new and used equipment preparation.
• Service machinery, including fluid checks, sampling, oil and filter checks, lubricant changes, filter replacement and greasing.
• Inspect components, materials and equipment, correct them to specifications and support timely delivery programs.
• Complete final verifications according to work instructions, scopes of work, communications and specifications.
• Submit accurate and timely reports and technical documentation, including service reports.
• Operate and maintain tools, equipment and work areas according to company policy.
• Support shop repairs and other assigned duties.
