Siemens Energy – Grid Technologies PFS Service provides a comprehensive service portfolio including turnkey installation and commissioning, repair, refurbishment, and spares for OEM and non-OEM power transformers, AIS and GIS equipment, and associated parts and accessories.

The Field Service Technician 1 (FST1) is responsible for executing projects focusing on safety, cost, quality, and schedule in the power delivery and utility space. Projects include transformer assembly, installation, commissioning, maintenance, repair, and upgrade, as well as High Voltage gas insulated switchgear, air insulated switchgear, and breaker assembly, installations, commissioning, maintenance, and repair. The FST1 may serve as crew lead, managing a team dispatched to project sites, overseeing vendor management, providing technical guidance, coordinating factory operations, and handling operational logistics and reporting.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  1. Perform complex field service operations requiring strong technical skills.
  2. Take on roles such as Crew Leader, Technical Field Advisor, or Qualified Electrical Worker to meet project staffing needs.
  3. Troubleshoot and repair power and distribution electrical equipment, applying technical knowledge to resolve issues and improve customer satisfaction.
  4. Communicate effectively regarding project scope, safety, security, environmental incidents, violations, or near misses.
  5. Lead and instruct less experienced technicians in safe operation and procedures.
  6. Perform on-site repair of high voltage electrical equipment, including gasket/O-ring replacement, gas filling/recovery, inspections, and testing, and prepare technical reports.
What You Bring
  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. Electrical Engineering or technical vocational diploma, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience; Power System Electrician or Red Seal Electrician preferred.
  3. Experience in instrumentation, millwright, industrial maintenance is advantageous; strong mechanical skills and tool knowledge required.
  4. 5-10 years of relevant OEM, industrial, commercial, or utility power system experience.
  5. Ability to read and interpret safety, operating, and maintenance documents.
  6. Class 5 Driver’s License with good defensive driving skills.
