Field Service Technician 1 - FST1, (CL, TFA, QEW)

Join Siemens Energy as a Field Service Technician 1 - FST1, (CL, TFA, QEW) and be part of our team providing comprehensive services including installation, commissioning, repair, refurbishment, and spares for power transformers and switchgear equipment.

Position Overview

The FST1 is a senior technician responsible for executing projects focusing on safety, quality, and schedule. Responsibilities include transformer assembly, installation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade, as well as working with high-voltage switchgear. The role often involves leading a crew and managing vendors, coordinating operations, and technical reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex field service operations with strong technical skills.
  • Lead and guide less experienced technicians, instructing on safe operation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, including high voltage GIS and HV breakers.
  • Communicate effectively regarding project scope, safety, and incidents.
  • Manage tasks related to on-site repairs and technical reporting.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; technical diploma or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Experience with power systems, OEM, industrial, or utility sectors (5-10 years preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret safety and operational manuals.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with good driving skills.
