Base pay range

CA$50,000.00 / yr - CA$60,000.00 / yr

Position Summary

As a Field Service Technician at Grimco, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction by providing expert technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for our equipment. You will be responsible for installing, diagnosing, repairing, and optimizing company product lines while developing strong customer relationships through hands-on service and technical expertise.

Additionally, you will act as a trusted resource, advising customers on best practices to maximize equipment performance. Your role will also involve supporting and mentoring new team members as needed.

This is a permanent full-time role, with hours of 8 : 30-5 : 00pm, and frequent travel.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Maintenance

  • Equipment Servicing : Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on Grimco’s product lines, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Diagnostics & Troubleshooting : Inspect, install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment to meet quality and performance specifications.
  • Customer Support : Provide expert advice to customers on optimizing equipment operation and resolving technical issues efficiently.
  • Warranty & Reporting : Document troubleshooting activities and warranty-related services.
  • Remote & On-Site Assistance : Run diagnostics and resolve customer concerns through both on-site visits and remote support.

Customer Engagement

  • Technical Consultation : Act as the first-line resource for customer inquiries, providing guidance on equipment operation and process improvement.
  • Relationship Building : Develop and maintain excellent customer relations to ensure satisfaction and long-term loyalty.
  • Customer Training : Educate clients on best practices, software updates, and new features to enhance equipment usage.
  • Operational Excellence

  • Process Improvement : Participate in developing corrective actions that improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Strategic Travel : Travel frequently to resolve operational or performance issues at customer locations.
  • Industry Knowledge : Stay up to date with new technologies, product advancements, and competitive trends in the industry.
  • Collaboration & Reporting

  • Team Coordination : Provide regular updates to managers and collaborate with internal departments to improve technical support strategies.
  • Strategy & Planning : Work closely with leadership to address key technical challenges and customer feedback.
  • Training & Development : Support the onboarding and mentoring of new technicians to ensure consistent service standards.
  • Requirements

  • Experience : Previous experience in equipment installation, troubleshooting, or technical support.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in using tools such as hand tools, power drills, multi-meters.
  • Education : Completed post-secondary education from an accredited college or university. Certifications for HP and Epson hardware / software are an asset.
  • Travel : Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for FREQUENT travel to customer locations (car allowance and gas card provided). Must have a valid passport and ability to travel within Canada and the United States (as required).
  • Technology Proficiency : Experience with ERP and CRM systems; competency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
  • Problem-Solving : Critical thinking skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Adaptability : Ability to work independently in dynamic environments, taking initiative to meet customer needs.
