Key Responsibilities and Expectations:

  1. We are looking for a talented Field Service Technician to perform service, diagnostic, repair and preventive maintenance. IPS Field Service Technicians demonstrate strong repair skills and commitment for providing an Unmatched Customer Experience.
  2. Inspect and test various electro-mechanical equipment.
  3. Perform electrical tests using portable electronic equipment including but not limited to: Megger, PdMA MCE, Multimeter, and DLRO.
  4. Install/Remove AC and DC electric motors, laser align equipment, read precision measuring tools such as micrometers, replace sleeve and anti-friction bearings, set seals, air gap, torque critical components to proper torque specs.
  5. Clean electro-mechanical equipment utilizing bead blasting, ice blasting, and solvent cleaning.
  6. Ensure a professional environment utilizing customer facing skills.
  7. Complete assigned work in compliance with operative policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  1. Experienced Millwright with 5 to 10 years of AC/DC motor experience.
  2. PdMA testing experience preferred.
  3. Level 2 Vibration Analysis preferred.
  4. Proficient at alignments and on-site balancing.
  5. Proficient at sleeve bearing seating and inspection.
  6. Bentley system experience considered a plus.
  7. Proxy probe installation experience.
  8. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions with precise execution.
  9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work procedures, and apply strong analytical problem-solving dynamics in a continuous improvement environment.
  10. Strong customer focus with professional communication.
  11. Available and willing to work flexible hours, overtime and weekends as required, willingness to be on call.
  12. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  13. Basic computer skills.
  14. Must have a valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
  15. Ability to travel locally and overnight.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to lift, push, pull, carry items up to 50 lbs. in weight.
  2. Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time.
  3. Ability to perform manual labor for up to 12 or more hours per day.
  4. Acute hearing and strong field of vision.
  5. Ability to work in demanding physical and inclement weather conditions.
