Job Summary:

The engineer applies technical knowledge and interpersonal skills to understand customer and product issues, propose solutions, and execute repairs. Tasks include troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of products both in the field and in-house. The role requires following departmental procedures and preparing reports and documentation. Customer support assistance may also be provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Work and travel independently, following all policies and working with specific Toshiba products.
  • Maintain profitability by submitting thorough reports and expenses promptly.
  • Understand and adhere to the scope of work assigned.
  • Focus on Toshiba’s standard products.
  • Handle all customer interactions in the field, including reports, requests, and documentation regarding Toshiba's standard products.
  • Possess product knowledge to provide technical support.
  • Troubleshoot and repair Toshiba’s standard products.
  • Perform startup and commissioning on Toshiba's standard products.
  • Complete inspections on simple nonstandard products.
  • Travel domestically and internationally, with over 80% travel expected.

Skills and Experience:

  • 3-7 years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing industrial power electronics.
  • Experience with adjustable speed drives or AC induction motors preferred.
  • Knowledge of tools such as oscilloscopes, torque wrenches, volt meters, electronic test equipment, chart recorders, high voltage test equipment, and computer interfaces.

Education and Training: Associates degree, technical degree, military power electrical training, or electrical apprenticeship preferred.
