Field Service Technician

This is more than a maintenance job—it’s a chance to work directly with RHI Magnesita’s most advanced robotic systems, including our proprietary “Terminator” machine. As a Service Technician, you’ll be the face of RHIM at the customer site, responsible for equipment maintenance, inventory support, and performance tracking. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our high-performance refractory products and systems deliver exceptional results in one of the world’s most extreme industrial environments

What You’ll Do
  • Maintain and repair equipment, including robotic systems like the Terminator
  • Support refractory application and inventory management
  • Advise refractory crew and report quality or application issues
  • Collect and analyze monthly KPIs and support follow-up actions
  • Generate and present CPP Results Meeting Reports
  • Maintain web-based inventory control systems and conduct physical counts
  • Coordinate inbound logistics and demand planning
  • Report on melt shop performance and update CPP tools
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and customer personnel
  • Learn new activities to prepare for future advancement
  • Work effectively with unionized personnel
  • Flexibility to work weekends when required
What You Bring

Education & Experience:

Engineering degree preferred or equivalent industrial experience

Skills & Abilities:

Strong communication skills in English

Flexibility with on-call, overtime, and weekend work

Familiarity with steel industry and heavy industrial environments

Safety-focused mindset and PPE compliance

Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Experience with ERP/MRP systems; SAP knowledge is a plus

Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle

Willingness to learn and support team members

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, sit, kneel, stoop, and lift light to moderate loads

Use of PPE including helmet, vest, gloves, glasses, and steel-toe boots
