Environmental Conditions

Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, work in a laboratory setting, wear PPE (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs), and tolerate strong odors from chemicals, lubricants, biological products, and various weather conditions.

Division Specific Information

As part of the Instrument and Enterprise Services (IES) team within the ULS division, you will join engineers with strong customer relationships and technical expertise.

How You Will Make an Impact

You will work autonomously, providing field service support to diverse customers while developing your professional skills.

Responsibilities
  • Repair, install, and maintain laboratory equipment such as incubators, centrifuges, refrigerators, freezers, etc.
  • Schedule, prioritize, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.
  • Deliver excellent customer service through active listening and collaboration.
  • Promote repair services, service contracts, and new equipment sales by understanding customer needs.
  • Complete training on various equipment and product lines.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and team members.
  • Uphold company values of integrity, innovation, involvement, and intensity.
Qualifications
Education

Post-secondary diploma in electronics engineering or similar military certification; relevant experience may be accepted in lieu.

Required Experience
  • At least 2 years in a field service role.
  • Experience with basic test equipment (DMM, tachometer, temperature devices).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electronics, electrical, and mechanical areas.
Preferred Experience
  • Over 3 years of similar field service experience.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standards.
  • Ability to service multiple vendor product lines independently.
Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency with computers, smartphones, and related software.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work independently.
  • Resourcefulness and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Responsiveness and commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Outgoing personality with a passion for success.
Work Environment
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs with assistance; carry 25-30 lbs.
  • Wear PPE as required.
  • Drive daily to customer sites using a company vehicle.
  • Occasional overnight travel; valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • A passport or work visa is necessary.
