Job summary

AFL Telecommunications, LLC is seeking a Field Service Manager to lead field operations across our Canada footprint. You will plan daily field activities, allocate resources, and drive service quality while upholding AFL safety standards.

You will coordinate with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve issues, improve productivity, and ensure on-time project delivery in a hybrid work setup.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Field Service Manager to lead and support our field service operations. The successful candidate will oversee field teams, coordinate service activities, and help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Field Service Manager will be responsible for planning and managing daily field activities, assigning resources, monitoring project progress, and supporting the development and performance of field employees. This role will work closely with internal teams, customers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to resolve operational issues, maintain strong service delivery, and ensure client expectations are met.

The Field Service Manager will promote a strong safety culture, uphold AFL’s quality and operational standards, and identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, and customer service. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, along with experience managing field-based teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure quality of service, customer experience, and community engagement within supported areas, with specific attention to
  • Manage and direct the activities of technicians and/or external resources to ensure compliance with established processes and procedures related to
  • Ensure that services offered meet customer expectations and align with organizational goals forV
  • Take responsibility for overall customer satisfaction, acting as a representative of AFL in
  • Identify and resolve roadblocks and elevate issues to ensure timely resolution, with a focus on maintaining project deliveries on time
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with policies and address disciplinary matters when required, with a specific emphasis on performance management, mentoring, and coaching
  • Ensure on-site adherence to Health and Safety regulations and procedures, including auditing safety plans, team member training, external resource monitoring and communication, equipment inspection, and regular site/field inspections
  • Conduct frequent quality assurance audits to ensure strict adherence to AFL and client standards
  • Cultivate strong relationships within the team and uphold a nurturing work environment, actively fostering an engaging and motivating culture of high performance—emphasize the importance of recognition, encourage team-building activities
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information to protect organizational values
  • Perform other administrative and miscellaneous duties as requested or assigned,

  • Review build designs and redlines for civil construction from contractors for approved pathways, including any permits that are required.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of technology industry experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience of managing large teams.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).

Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team.

Working Conditions:

  • Combination of field and office environment.
  • Working from the office for two days per week, with the remaining three days dedicated to conducting site visits.
  • Permanent full-time position.
  • Travel may be required on a limited basis.
