Overview

Sartorius seeks a Field Service Engineer to join the Lab Products & Services team supporting the Western Canada region. As the Field Service Engineer you will oversee the technical support operations, ensure efficient triage, meetings, manage equipment updates, share critical information, plan training sessions, and develop the escalation process. This role requires close collaboration with country-level experts and the Global Tech Support team to effectively address and resolve technical issues.

The ideal candidate will reside in Vancouver, B.C., Canada.

What you will accomplish together with us :

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer care and build positive relationships with customers
  • Provide technical support to customers in the event of issues
  • Coordinate workflow with scheduling to minimize unnecessary travel and travel to customers by ground, train, and air as needed
  • Provide training to customers on the essential use and operation of Bio Analytics instruments
  • Perform field service calibration and installation of complex mechanical systems as well as preventative maintenance and field sterilizations
  • Assist with resolving IT issues related to Bio Analytics system installations; follow company procedures and perform software updates/upgrades
  • Assist in drafting documentation of processes and procedures as required
  • Keep accurate records of parts assigned to the engineer and maintain precise counts
  • Produce timely, accurate, and detailed service reports and prepare customer-facing estimates of repairs
  • Pass along identified leads to the Sales Manager
  • Frequently lift items up to 35 kg
  • Participate in leading and facilitating Triage meetings
  • Liaise with the Global Support team to receive equipment updates and implement them appropriately
  • Disseminate critical information to relevant regional teams to ensure timely changes
  • Plan and organize local and regional training sessions to maintain required skillsets
  • Serve as escalation point with the local and regional service team
  • Able to travel to customer sites primarily within the California Bay Area with potential for overnight travel outside the territory
Qualifications
  • Associates degree or certifications in engineering, or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 years of Field Service Engineer experience
  • 3 years of field service experience in the Bio-Pharmaceutical industry
  • 1 year of experience troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and servicing technical equipment with excellent mechanical, electrical, and IT skills
  • You have a valid Driver's License
  • Familiarity with mobile tools and applications
  • Excellent driving record
  • You are proficient with MS Office software including Outlook, Word, and Excel
