Job description

As the first and often the most frequent point of contact for our clients, you will have the greatest opportunity to influence the client's perception of Evertz. This position combines technical expertise and customer service skills, both in-house and when traveling to customer production studios and distribution facilities.

You will be responsible for configuring, commissioning, and troubleshooting Ethernet/IP networks supporting broadcast networks and video processing equipment.

Responsibilities:

1. Implement, document, and deploy small and large scale IP Networks supporting broadcast infrastructures.
2. Respond to and provide technical guidance to customers regarding operational issues, firmware upgrades, and maintenance.
3. Assess applications, troubleshoot, and diagnose issues to determine root causes.
4. Recommend solutions using appropriate technical language to customers promptly and professionally.
5. Maintain communication between customer service and other departments, resolving issues and relaying customer feedback for design improvements.
6. Develop product communications, including customer guides, FAQs, application notes, and best practices.
7. Install products or systems at customer sites and deliver training as needed.
8. Knowledge of protocols such as RFC 2328, PIM, QOS, RIP, Sflow, SNMP, STP/RSTP/MST, VARP/VRRP, VLAN, VRF.

Qualifications:

• Strong desire to assist customers and deliver excellent service.
• Education or practical experience in Computer Networking.
• Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Electronic Technician or engineering background.
• Comfort with Linux highly preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting networks.
• Knowledge of IP Networking Protocols (IGMPv2/v3, RIP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
• Understanding of Internet network technologies (DNS, Firewall, SSH, HTTP).
• Valid Ontario driver’s license.
