We are now looking for a Field Research Photographer who will create high quality, creative photos and videos using DSLR cameras, drones, gimbals and other state‑of‑the‑art equipment. Residential renters, homebuyers, commercial real estate owners, investors and agents rely on CoStar to provide high‑quality media to market their properties and to learn about opportunities. With 24 million people visiting CoStar’s websites each month, every day your media will drive transactions. Along with captivating imagery, Field Researcher Photographers are also responsible for data collection that supports all CoStar Group products.

Responsibilities
  • Navigate assigned locations to ensure complete commercial real estate data coverage.
  • Thoroughly walk assigned commercial buildings floor‑by‑floor to document detailed tenant data, including business name, full address, suite size, geo‑location, and images.
  • Professionally communicate with building staff and management to gain access to tenant rosters and any available property data.
  • Identify new or missing inventory, along with missing availability and other commercial data.
  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy and completeness of all collected information.
  • Use your architectural photography expertise to produce interior and exterior media of multifamily, office, industrial, and retail properties.
  • Use a variety of tools to create visually appealing media including professional‑grade cameras, tilt‑shift lenses, drones, gimbals, sliders, 3D tour cameras, and others.
  • Edit all photography and video in a timely fashion resulting in a completed project.
  • Maintain professional and effective communication with clients during all aspects of media shoots, including scheduling, set up and on‑site interactions.
  • Continue learning and development of your craft, including staying up to date on new techniques and technology.
Physical Requirements of Position

Frequent and repetitive standing, walking, and sitting in a car for up to 8 hours per day. Ability to work and drive outside during all seasons. Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment weighing up to 5 pounds. Repetitive hand and arm movements are needed to type on a tablet or laptop. Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, lifting, twisting, and carrying are necessary to perform job functions.

Basic Qualifications
  • At least 4 years of professional experience with corporate and/or real estate photography and videography.
  • Full understanding of manual camera settings and lighting.
  • Strong time‑management skills and very detail‑oriented; enjoys working independently.
  • Ability to work independently and stay organized while navigating large geographic areas.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills; proactively identify missing data and resolve discrepancies.
  • Capability to accurately capture and enter data.
  • The ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts such as commercial real estate terminology.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and organizational skills.
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, e.g., Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro.
  • Experience using MAC OS and MS Office.
  • FAA Part 107 Certification required (can secure within 30 days of hire).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to rent a car if necessary.

Submit your portfolio of photos and videos which will include a selection of architectural, real estate, and exterior lifestyle media (exterior and interior photographs, videos, and drone media required).

Compensation

This position offers an hourly wage equivalent to $94,000‑$118,000 annually, based on relevant skills and experience, and includes a generous benefits plan.
