Job summary

Morgan Construction and Environmental Ltd. in Edmonton is seeking a FIELD RECRUITER to support our heavy civil construction projects. You will screen resumes, interview candidates, and extend offers to ensure a strong fit for hourly field-based roles.

Reporting to the Lead Field Recruiter, you will build relationships, manage sourcing channels, and coordinate onboarding while upholding Morgan’s values and pillars of excellence.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of full-cycle recruitment experience.
  • Experience in high-volume construction recruitment preferred.
  • HR-related education is an asset.
  • RPR designation is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Review, interview, and extend offers to support project work.
  • Screen resumes and interview candidates for qualifications and fit.
  • Decide hiring decisions and extend offers for hourly field-based roles.
  • Build relationships with candidates for a positive experience.
  • Understand position requirements and site information for review.
  • Source candidates through various channels including research, cold calling, job boards, social networking.
  • Coordinate onboarding with Recruitment Coordinators.
  • Proactively communicate recruitment progress with stakeholders.
  • Align with Morgan values and pillars of excellence.

Work Location and Schedule
  • In-Office position at Morgan Head Office (Edmonton)
  • Monday - Friday 8am -5pm
  • Required Rotational weekend work coverage (with 2 days off afterwards)
What you’ll do

Reporting to the Lead Field Recruiter, you’ll directly contribute to the success of the organization by reviewing, interviewing, and extending offers to support our project work.

  • Screen resumes and perform interviews to assess candidate qualifications to ensure best possible fit for the organization.
  • Evaluate candidates during interview based on job requirements, decisively make hiring decisions, and extend job offers to a high volume of highly skilled individuals for hourly field based positions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with candidates to ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Understand position requirements, including site/location information, equipment and position specifics and apply that knowledge to candidate review.
  • Source and attract candidates through various channels including research, cold calling, job boards, social and professional networking.
  • Manage candidate status using internal applicant tracking systems documenting all communications.
  • Work closely with assigned Recruitment Coordinator(s) to ensure candidates are progressing through onboarding requirements.
  • Regularly and proactively communicate recruitment progress with internal stakeholders.
  • Understand and believe in Morgan values and Pillars of Excellence, consistently demonstrating alignment through everyday actions and able to ascertain best fit for the company based on candidates own values and beliefs.
What you’ll bring
Qualifications & Experience
  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of 2 years recruitment experience in a full cycle recruitment environment.
  • Experience in a high-volume construction, heavy civil or similar would be preferred.
  • HR related education would be an asset
  • RPR designation would be an asset.
