Job summary

Schlumberger Canada Limited is seeking an experienced Directional Driller Specialist to join our field team in Alberta, with additional work in British Columbia. You will steer wells at rig sites using SLB directional drilling technology, ensuring safe and efficient service delivery across Alberta and BC.

The role requires strong directional drilling expertise in SAGD and heavy oil, plus the ability to make real-time drilling decisions in a fast-paced field environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.

Responsibilities

• Execute directional drilling operations at rig sites using SLB technology to safely and accurately steer wells.
• Identify and manage operational risks through job risk analysis and established service delivery processes.
• Collaborate with Directional Drillers, MWD Specialists, and customers to support safe and efficient wellsite operations.
• Maintain compliance with company, customer, and regulatory standards through required assessments and wellsite inspections.
• Participate in Service Quality, HSE, and continuous improvement initiatives, implementing action plans as required.
• Build and maintain effective customer relationships while supporting the delivery of SLB products and services.
