Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized Sprinkler Project Manager to lead large-scale sprinkler system installation projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex projects, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering results that exceed customer expectations. This role requires expertise in navigating large project lifecycles, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with both technical standards and budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Execution: Lead and manage Sprinkler projects with budgets ranging from $2M to $10M, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

  • Budget and Financial Management: Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets, including forecasting, cost control, and profitability analysis for large-scale projects.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure alignment on project goals, milestones, and deliverables.

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and direct project teams, delegating responsibilities effectively while maintaining a collaborative and productive work environment.

  • Contract Management: Review and negotiate contracts, ensuring alignment with project scope and compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with large-scale projects, ensuring proactive problem-solving and contingency planning.

  • Project Reporting: Provide detailed updates to senior management and stakeholders, including schedule tracking, budget performance, and progress toward milestones.

  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure all projects adhere to local codes, industry standards, and NFPA/ULC guidelines, maintaining the highest level of safety and quality.

  • Customer Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring satisfaction through clear communication and delivery of high-quality results.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years of experience managing sprinkler or related systems projects, with a focus on large-scale projects ($2M-$10M).

  • Strong knowledge of sprinkler systems, ULC/NFPA codes, and industry standards.

  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively for multimillion-dollar projects.

  • Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead teams and foster client relationships.

  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.

  • PMP certification or equivalent is a strong plus.

What you will do

  • As a member of the field operations team, the Field Project Manager will manage and coordinate post sale implementation tasks pertaining to the installation of security systems sold by the company.

  • Manage projects assigned, which consist of mid to high volume small projects and low to mid volume large projects.

  • Manage multiple projects of various sizes simultaneously on a daily basis.

  • Review and validate assigned project scope of work, bill of material, and implementation budget.

  • Work closely with internal departments and lead project meetings.

  • Communicate with internal team, customers, general contractors, and subcontractors to confirm material, shipping, site, and resource readiness.

  • Create estimates for internal and external installation resources and lift equipment as necessary.

  • Solicit project bids from subcontractors for projects requiring subcontractor labor and award projects as per award policy.

  • Generate purchase order requisitions for subcontractor labor, lift rentals, and miscellaneous materials as necessary.

  • Distribute purchase orders and close upon completion.

  • Work closely with Johnson Controls distribution center to obtain material availability status, schedule shipping dates, and remedy any discrepancies.

  • Facilitate permit process, typically acquired by others.

  • Assign and schedule technicians and subcontractors to perform installation tasks, ensuring that scheduling maximizes efficiency, accelerates project backlog depletion, quality, and compliance to all health and safety requirements.

  • Create and distribute SOW documentation to assigned installers and lead project kickoff meeting to review documentation.

  • Update and continually maintain project activity log, providing updates to internal and external customers as required.

  • Maintain project expected completion date for revenue forecasting.

  • Monitor project progress and expenses, escalating potential risks to internal stakeholders.

  • Manage project to end and validate all elements of SOW have been completed, executing all project closure activities.

  • Execute project tasks via project management applications and others as required.

  • Create project documentation and monitor project budget using MS Office applications and others.

  • Leverage internal and external support services.

What we look for

Required

  • College diploma in electrical/electronic/networking systems or equivalent.

  • 3 to 5 years of project coordination experience in construction and open facility environments.

  • Proficiency with architectural drawings and the ability to create rough markups for conduit, electrical drops, and system component placements.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate in a professional business manner.

  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

  • Ability to travel generally within the province and attend site meetings as necessary.

  • Proficient with MS Office products.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of sprinklers market leading brands.

  • IP systems networking knowledge.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Experience working with Retail customers.

  • Ability to use basic functionality of drawing applications.
