Kelly has partnered with our client in the Oil and Gas industry to recruit for a Contract Field Operator for a Fly-in/Fly-out position in Christina Lake, Alberta.

Job Title: Contract Field Operator

Duration: May 13/25 to Dec. 31/25

Hours: Tues-Tues 8 days on, 6 days off – 10 hrs/day, 84 hrs/rotation Rotating day/night shift. 6-hour days on day 1 and 8, 12 hour days day 2-7.

Pay Rate: $55.00/hour

Locations: Onsite, FIFO + Camp Accommodations Provided. – Christina Lake, AB, T5A 0A7

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and Monitor Equipment: Oversee the operation of pumps, compressors, and other production equipment. Ensure all machinery is functioning correctly and efficiently.

• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures. Conduct regular safety inspections and participate in safety meetings.

• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment. Report any issues or malfunctions to the maintenance team.

• Data Collection: Record and analyze production data. Use this information to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.

• Environmental Stewardship: Ensure all operations comply with environmental regulations. Participate in initiatives to reduce environmental impact.

• Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies, including equipment failures and environmental incidents. Participate in emergency response drills.

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other field operators, engineers, and management to ensure smooth operations. Communicate effectively and provide support as needed.

MUST HAVE

• Education: Minimum Alberta 4th Class Power Engineering ticket, 3rd Class preferred.

• Experience: 5 years of experience in a similar role within the oil and gas industry.

• Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Certifications: Valid safety certifications (e.g., H2S Alive, First Aid, WHMIS) are required.

• Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift heavy equipment. Must be able to work on a rotating shift schedule.
