Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning and Coordination: Develop and implement strategic plans to effectively allocate and manage employee resources. Ensure alignment with contractual obligations, focusing on quality and efficiency in service delivery.
  • Operational Leadership: Direct and supervise field labor forces and support personnel, optimizing resource allocation in line with sales initiatives. Drive initiatives to meet or surpass customer expectations in scheduling and execution of elevator services.
  • Safety Compliance and Incident Management: Enforce strict adherence to safety standards as dictated by company policies and provincial Health and Safety regulations. Proactively investigate work-related incidents, accidents, or near-misses, implementing corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.
  • Training and Development: Conduct regular 'Toolbox Talk' meetings to update and educate staff on industry best practices and safety protocols. Play a pivotal role in the recruitment and training of field and support personnel, ensuring skill development and proficiency.
  • Client and Contractor Liaison: Foster strong, collaborative relationships with property managers and designated managers. Strive to exceed contractual obligations through effective communication and coordination.
  • Quality and Performance Oversight: Monitor and evaluate work processes, providing technical guidance or coordination support as needed. This includes both verbal and written communication, as well as the preparation of relevant documentation.
  • Resource Management: Guarantee the availability and optimal utilization of materials, tools, equipment, and power tool spare parts for ongoing activities. Provide clear, straightforward direction to mechanics and support staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Technology and Knowledge Upkeep: Maintain an up-to-date understanding of all facets of elevator technology, ensuring the company stays at the forefront of industry advancements.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Exhibit outstanding communication skills and a commitment to exceptional customer service. Address and resolve work-related issues promptly and efficiently, maintaining high customer satisfaction.

Minimum Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the elevator industry (mechanic or adjuster).
  • Must be in possession of a valid Mechanic’s License.
  • Thorough knowledge of the elevator industry with field experience in elevator maintenance, modernization, or repair.
  • Competent in the use of basic business software and hardware.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical reasoning and comprehension skills. Requires ability to read and interpret technical documents and a desire to learn, maintain, and expand knowledge of all aspects of elevator technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage personnel.
  • Proven ability to inspire trust and commitment from employees.
  • Excellent customer service, project management, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must be able to work under pressure, multi-task, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Requires demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of employees and customers, both internal and external.
