We are actively seeking professionals who take ownership, embrace growth, and build lasting relationships; individuals ready to help us shape the next chapter of Durwest.

Position Overview

Durwest is hiring a Field Operations Manager to support field operations staff across multiple active construction sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to Durwest's quality standards. This role is central to keeping day-to-day field execution aligned with Durwest's systems, safety requirements, and budget targets.

As a Field Operations Manager, you will work closely with key project team members to support daily field activities and systems, uphold safety and quality standards, manage site manpower movements, and help resolve on-site challenges before they affect schedule or budget. Your work will directly shape project outcomes and strengthen Durwest's reputation for well-run, reliable job sites.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a hands-on management role across a growing portfolio of projects, working alongside site leadership and helping shape field operations as Durwest expands. If you are an experienced construction professional with strong leadership skills, sound judgement under pressure, and a talent for keeping people and projects aligned, this position is the right next step.

  • Support sites in gathering the information needed for regular progress reports and support in communication to project team.
  • Lead the design, execution and implementation of all future field operation policies and systems.
Tools + Equipment
  • Work with Durwest’s Tools & Equipment Manager to build and maintain systems for tool inventory, tracking, maintenance, and rentals, including monthly review and approval of Tool Rental Reports (TRRs).
  • Collaborate with Superintendents to forecast equipment and tooling needs, support bulk-procurement, and help oversee equipment and vehicle fleet maintenance to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Safety + Compliance
  • Work closely with Durwest's Health and Safety Manager to champion a strong safety culture on every job site by supporting the rollout of Durwest's standard operating procedures and safety policies, and ensuring compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and Durwest's Health and Safety Program.
  • Attend Corporate JOHSC (Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee) meetings.
Collaboration + Support to Site Leadership
  • Work alongside Superintendents and the General Superintendent to drive consistent standards, processes, and best practices across all active sites, helping lead field-based initiatives that promote continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Act as a resource and sounding board for Superintendents, helping troubleshoot operational challenges and sharing lessons learned across projects, including chairing recurring Superintendent meetings, coordinating the agenda with the General Superintendent.
  • Support quality control and client-care efforts across projects to help maintain consistently high-quality outcomes.
  • Support project closeout and handover, and facilitate warranty repair work that arises following demobilization from the jobsite.
  • Organize field-level incentive events to support team morale and engagement.
Workforce Management + Development
  • Forecast field staff requirements with the General Superintendent based on the project pipeline, support project resourcing meetings to help ensure adequate site supervision and field staff coverage across all upcoming and active projects, and manage the movement of site manpower between project sites.
  • Support the screening, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of field staff and Superintendents to help ensure the workforce meets project requirements and aligns with Durwest's culture and goals.
  • Monitor and track Superintendent KPIs, and act as training program coordinator for field staff, supporting internal supervisor reviews and 1:1 meetings and coordinating external training opportunities.
  • Mentor site personnel and provide training on core skills and new field initiatives or tools to enhance on-site efficiency and professionalism, monitoring to confirm consistent, effective use.
  • Maintain and manage the Apprenticeship Program to help attract and retain skilled workers.
