Job summary

Canadian Natural is offering an Operations Engineering Student position spanning 16 months, combining a four‑month field placement with later work in our Calgary office. You will rotate through Conventional, Facilities, and Production/Exploitation teams to gain hands‑on experience with field operations, production optimization, and asset development.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum engineering or related field.
• All other engineering disciplines will be considered.
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
• Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license or equivalent may be asset.

Responsibilities

• Field Operations Student: contribute to safety culture, support conventional oil and gas operations, monitor and optimise equipment and production systems.
• Facilities Engineering Student: support PHAs, risk assessments, and planning of operational and capital projects.
• Production/Exploitation Engineering Student: analyse production, drilling, reservoir data to support asset evaluations and development opportunities.
• Develop engineering reports, dashboards, and data analyses to support decision‑making.
