Job summary

Barnhart Canada is seeking an experienced NDT Inspector to support crane inspection operations across Western Canada. The role focuses on performing MPI and visual inspections of cranes and rigging, evaluating welds and structural integrity, and producing detailed reports.

The position involves extensive field travel and client interaction to ensure safety and compliance in heavy-lift operations. The inspector will operate in a hands-on, field-based environment, collaborating with maintenance

Qualifications

CGSB Level II MPI (MT) certification is required.
CWB Visual 1 (CSA W178.2) Welding Inspector certification is required.
Working knowledge of CSA Z150 safety standards is required.

Responsibilities

Perform magnetic particle (MPI) and visual inspections on cranes and rigging equipment.
Conduct detailed inspections in accordance with CSA Z150 and applicable industry standards.
Evaluate weld quality, structural integrity, and compliance with governing codes.
Prepare technical reports, inspection documentation, and peer reviews.
Coordinate repair activities with maintenance teams and perform re-inspections on repaired equipment.
Travel extensively across Alberta and Western Canada as required, building strong customer relationships.
