Job summary

Smith + Andersen, a Canadian engineering firm with offices across five provinces, is seeking a Mechanical Field Representative for the Vancouver office. You will review construction documents, identify constructability issues, travel to project sites, and maintain field reports while fostering strong contractor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Review construction documents and identify constructability issues.
• Travel to project sites for meetings and site reviews.
• Generate field review reports per company standards.
• Assist in site instructions, change notices, and RFI responses.
• Establish and maintain contractor relationships.
• Coordinate site visits with designers and relay practical insights.
• Verify information to support progress and payments.
• Ensure work complies with plans, standards and specifications.
• Close out building permits with relevant information.
• Complete building condition assessments and capital planning reports.
