Job description

Position Summary:

The Field Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing natural gas generator sets and related mechanical systems essential for field operations. When not deployed to field sites, the mechanic will work in the company’s facility, performing general mechanical tasks to support operations and maintain readiness for field deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair natural gas generator sets and other mechanical systems during field assignments.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime both in the field and at the facility.
  • Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and blueprints to carry out maintenance and repairs.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to install, test, and commission equipment on-site.
  • Provide emergency response for equipment breakdowns in the field, troubleshooting effectively under pressure.
  • Complete general mechanical repairs and maintenance duties in the company’s shop when not on field assignments.
  • Document all maintenance activities and service logs accurately.
  • Maintain and comply with all safety and environmental regulations on-site and in the facility.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with natural gas engines and generator sets, preferably in oil and gas or power generation.
  • Skilled in mechanical diagnostics and proficient with tools and repair equipment.
  • Ability to work independently in remote locations as well as collaboratively in a workshop environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and flexibility for travel.
