Job Details
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Administer medications in the patient's home, specialty clinics, and Physician Partnership clinic settings.
- Assess and monitor pre- and post-injection/infusion treatments as directed by program protocols.
- Complete necessary documentation based on policies and procedures, and as directed by the College of Nurses and Innomar ISO accreditation standards of practice.
- Provide patient and caregiver education based on product monographs and program protocols, individually or in groups.
- Report adverse events, serious adverse events, and product complaints according to Innomar training and policies & procedures.
- Maintain reliable availability based on the employment agreement to meet the needs of the IBU and the Nursing and clinics Key Performance Indicators.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams such as case managers, physicians, pharmacy, scheduling, and other departments to meet treatment and appointment schedules.
- Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers to set up appointments and drug delivery to home and clinic.
- Participate in team web-based meetings and training sessions to uphold professional standards.
- Participate in specialized client-related training as required.
- Adhere to professional nursing standards prescribed by professional associations and Innomar.
- Work collaboratively within the healthcare team, providing oversight and delegation of tasks to RPN/LPN as authorized by provincial nursing regulations.
- Travel within designated IBUs to meet operational needs.
- Follow all nursing and clinic standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Follow all health and safety standards as per provincial legislation.
- Complete ongoing and annual education and training within specified timeframes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Innomar.
- Be available on standby/on call as needed to meet service requirements.
Experience And Educational Requirements:
- Relevant experience as a Registered Nurse required.
- At least 1 year of IV initiation experience.
- Current registration with a licensing body; CPR certification.
- Experience in critical care, emergency, acute care inpatient/outpatient, or homecare settings.
- ACLS, PALS, MS, and CVAA certifications, and experience with central venous lines/ports are assets.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, MS Word, and other relevant computer programs.
- Reliable internet connection and a cell phone for communication and appointment management.
- Excellent customer service skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel within the designated geographical area.
