PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Learn about medications produced by pharmaceutical companies and comply with Health Canada’s regulatory standards and Product Monographs for administration.
  • Administer medications (IV, SC, IM) in a specialty Innomar Clinic, Delta-Surrey location, on a 1-year contract.
  • Assess and monitor infusion and injection treatments as directed by protocols.
  • Complete necessary documentation based on policies, procedures, and standards from the College of Nurses and ISO accreditation.
  • Report adverse events, serious adverse events, and product complaints in accordance with Innomar policies & procedures.
  • Provide reliable availability : five 8-hour shifts per week or four 10-hour shifts per week . Shifts may be within Monday to Friday, between 7 : 30 am and 7 : 00 pm, with no statutory holidays, no night shifts, and one Saturday per month.
  • Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including case managers, physicians, pharmacy, scheduling, and other departments to meet timelines.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions with managers and educators to maintain professional standards.
  • Engage in specialized pharmaceutical training as required.
  • Adhere to professional nursing standards and all operational procedures and safety standards.
  • Complete ongoing education and training within specified timeframes.
  • Utilize digital platforms for independent learning to meet work requirements.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Relevant experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with IV initiation.
  • Current registration with a licensing body and CPR certification.
  • Assets include ACLS, PALS, MS, CVAA certifications, and experience with central venous lines or ports.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and other computer programs.
  • Access to reliable internet connection.
  • Knowledge of cell phones for appointments and communication, and familiarity with fax machines.
  • Excellent customer service, communication skills, and ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel within a designated area.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS :

  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical distribution industry is an asset.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, interpersonal, leadership, organizational, time management, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid, non-expired, unrestricted driver’s license and insurance.

The successful candidate may have daily contacts with unilingual English-speaking customers, patients, or peers from cross-functional teams.
