Job summary

Canacre seeks an Environmental Monitor to oversee environmental monitoring during construction across energy projects. You will coordinate daily compliance activities, conduct wildlife surveys, and implement mitigation measures in line with environmental plans.

The role requires strong communication, field leadership, and the ability to liaise with clients and contractors while maintaining detailed environmental reporting and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree/diploma in Biology or Environmental Science.
• Formal leadership training would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of construction activities.
• Coordinate daily environmental compliance during construction.
• Monitor wildlife and mitigation measures.
• Review and report environmental incidents.
• Prepare environmental permits support.
• Interact with Client and Contractors.
• Lead environmental aspects for the Environment team.
• Maintain daily/weekly/monthly environmental reports.
• Ensure marking of environmentally sensitive areas.
• Participate in safety meetings and promote safe work practices.
