We are actively seeking a Field Engineer to join our team in Kitchener, Ontario.
As a Field Engineer, you will provide full project lifecycle support — from planning and pre-deployment to on-site execution and closeout. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, customer representatives, and regulatory authorities, often under tight timelines, to ensure quality, safety, and technical excellence. This role typically reports to the Field Engineering Supervisor/Manager but will be assigned to Project or Site Managers depending on project needs.
Pre-Deployment
Prepare and review technical work packages ensuring full compliance with contract requirements and regulatory standards (CSA, ASME).
Lead procedure and tooling development, technical training, and readiness reviews.
Collaborate with engineering, trades, and quality teams to align on project expectations.
Support design validation, risk analysis, and operational experience integration.
Project Execution
Serve as the technical authority on-site during field execution.
Ensure strict adherence to work packages, quality programs, and Human Performance tools.
Provide real-time problem-solving, technical direction, and oversight to field personnel.
Act as the single point of contact for technical issues, escalating where necessary.
Document shift activities, coordinate stakeholder input, and manage quality checkpoints.
Project Closeout
Ensure complete and accurate documentation of work scope, quality records, and regulatory sign-offs.
Lead lessons learned initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Prepare technical reports detailing execution outcomes.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BASc) and 4+ years of industry experience.
Progress toward P.Eng. designation in Ontario.
Strong working knowledge of nuclear standards and codes: ASME (III, V, VIII, IX) and CSA (N285, N286, N299).
Proficiency in field execution practices, materials, machining, and non-destructive examination.
Ability to translate complex technical instructions into executable field procedures.
Strong technical writing and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead in high-pressure, critical path project environments.
Experience with Human Performance tools, Foreign Material Exclusion, and nuclear work practices.
Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and be eligible for nuclear security clearance.
Security Clearance:
This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process. The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $73,000 and $106,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
