Job summary

A construction services company located in Edmonton is seeking a Field Engineer in Training (EIT). The role involves a split between design and operations, managing quality assurance/control, and serving as a site liaison. Candidates should have a degree in Civil Engineering or be working towards it. Strong communication skills and a valid driver's license are required. Most working days will be spent on site at construction projects.

Overview

Responsibilities
  • Scheduling

  • Inspection and testing
  • Design development and simultaneous field engineering on multiple projects
  • Monitoring of drilling, piling and grouting operations
  • Daily logging of work completed
  • Quality control supervision via real-time inspection
  • Majority of working days spent on site at construction project

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Degree or technical diploma in Civil Engineering, or working towards
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to an ever-changing environment (i.e., policies, procedures, technologies and best practices)
  • Physical Demands
  • Travel to jobsites throughout Ontario
  • Time spent sitting, standing, walking on uneven surfaces
  • Work in adverse weather conditions (snow, cold, heat)
