Job description

Eastern Traffic Services, part of The Municipal Group of Companies, is a large, diversified construction company engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction industry within the Atlantic provinces. Eastern Traffic Services is currently seeking a Field Coordinator to support our operations based in Lower Sackville, NS but must be willing to travel to various locations around the province.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Field Manager, the Field Coordinator will promote safe, compliant, and productive work sites. As a consummate professional and team player, the successful applicant will engage with all stakeholders to reinforce and promote a safe and productive work life for ETS employees.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide support for traffic control personnel.
  • Promote and regulate safety and compliance in the workplace.
  • Liaise with Safety and Health and Wellness Departments to promote a positive work environment.
  • Promote company policies and initiatives in the workplace.
  • Delivery of constructive feedback and potential discipline, in accordance with the company Disciplinary Process.
  • Investigate, report and review workplace incidents.
  • Complete competency inspections and reports for field staff.
  • Complete daily Traffic Management Inspections, minimum two per day.
  • Provide an escalation channel for all ETS employees in your region.
  • Complete and submit daily updates to Senior Field Manager.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and tours.

Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, Education And Experience

  • Must be well versed or willing to learn traffic control safety and construction site regulations and protocols.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Working safely is a condition of employment.
  • TWS and TCP certification and experience is considered an asset.
  • Must have a valid class 5 Nova Scotia Driver’s License
  • Must have adequate technological skills.
  • Able to pro-actively problem solve, prioritize and to redefine priorities when necessary.
