Job Details

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Practice Management

  • Customize program elements to meet the needs of assigned prescribing physicians;
  • Review patient status and assist the prescribing physician to complete patient enrolment, prepare payer forms to access coverage, review patient charts, document therapies and tests;
  • Identify obstacles to coverage and communicate with the Program Manager;
  • Develop relationships with physicians and office staff, providing support to ensure smooth patient enrollment;
  • Assist in resolving issues with physicians;
  • Train physicians and clinics on programs and initiatives;
  • Provide feedback to the Program Manager based on field observations and physician feedback;
  • Complete reports as required and within deadlines.

Patient Support (may vary based on program design)

  • Welcome patients and collect information;
  • Provide reimbursement guidelines to patients and physicians;
  • Coordinate and track patient services to expedite therapy access;
  • Coordinate coverage activities among patients, physicians, and insurers;
  • Confirm reimbursement outcomes with patients;
  • Assist with financial aid and pharmacy selection;
  • Coordinate ongoing therapy and address clinical questions outside program scope;
  • Report adverse events following SOPs.

Mentorship/Peer Support

  • Assist in training new team members;
  • Support peers through communication;
  • Maintain positive relationships with the team;
  • Share information as needed.

Manufacturer Interface

  • Participate in scheduled physician meetings;
  • Attend CME events and report activities;
  • Present in service to physicians with pharmaceutical reps.

Other

  • Maintain communication with all stakeholders;
  • Complete reports and documentation;
  • Perform additional duties as assigned;
  • May require on-call availability.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field, or nurse diploma;
  • Minimum five years in healthcare, pharma, or insurance industries;
  • Licensed Nurse (RN or RPN/LPN) with active registration; case management experience preferred;
  • Willingness to travel within territory, including overnight stays;
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation;
  • Experience in therapeutic areas is an asset;
  • Background in pharma sales/marketing is an asset;
  • Knowledge of reimbursement systems and processes;
  • Experience with reimbursement navigation and appeals;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Fluency in French and/or English depending on location.
