Job summary

Dyno Nobel is seeking a technical expert to support blasting operations across Western Canada, the Arctic, and Alaska. The role involves field-based client support, project execution, and long-term growth in the explosives industry.

The successful candidate will be based in Western Canada, provide regional SME support for surface and underground mining, quarry, and construction projects, and travel to Canada and the U.S. to collaborate with teams and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining, Geo-technical, Mineral, and/or Geological Engineering; Civil Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 3 years working experience with progressively increasing responsibility.
• 3 years’ experience in explosives or related industry.
• Some underground experience strongly preferred.
• Must be based within region, and within 2 hrs of a major airport.
• General Knowledge and understanding of explosives technology, basic geology, and seismology.
• Travel (60%) may vary depending on location and nature of work directed.
• Must possess a valid passport and be able and willing to work in both Canada and the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate/lead commitment to Zero Harm and safety.
• Provide field level support via application training, process auditing, troubleshooting and improvement opportunities.
• Demonstrate Dyno products and services at customer sites.
• Identify opportunities for new system applications and value propositions.
• Collaborate across teams to determine best path for customer satisfaction and project execution.
• Manage field projects as the project manager for Dyno Nobel solution offerings.
• Conduct blast measurements, sampling, safety audits and documentation.
• Prepare and present proposals and reports internally and externally.
