Job summary

Valard Construction is seeking a Material Logistics & Yard Coordinator to manage yard operations on a busy data centre construction site in Port Hawkesbury, NS. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will oversee material deliveries, laydown, tools, PPE, and fleet reliability.

This field-based role requires hands-on organisation, safe equipment operation, and coordinating with field crews and site supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 3+ years of experience in a warehouse, yard, or materials management role within construction/industrial environments
• Experience with inventory management systems and material tracking processes
• Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely
• Valid driver’s licence

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee receiving of incoming material deliveries, verifying quantities and condition
• Organise and manage laydown yard operations including material staging and inventory tracking
• Manage inventory and distribution of tools, equipment, and PPE
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and servicing schedules with Fleet and mechanics
• Maintain yard records including material logs and equipment status reports
• Support site logistics coordination and delivery timing with site supervision
• Ensure yard safety and compliance with Valard policies
• As volume grows, provide direction to yard helpers
