Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance, training, demonstrations, and sales support.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers and partners.
  • Support agricultural events, field demonstrations, and trade shows.
  • Coordinate with internal teams on technical matters and customer needs.
  • Develop procedures for resolving technical issues and coordinate field trials.
  • Test software, report bugs, and generate integration guides and notes.
  • Review documentation and support materials; expand team knowledge.

Overview

Hexagon’s Autonomous Solutions division is looking for a Field Applications Engineer - Agriculture to join our team in Canada. Reporting to the Support Manager, Agriculture, this role will help drive precision agriculture development forward by supporting some of the biggest names in the agricultural industry, partnering with the Agricultural Sales team, and ensuring customer success through technical expertise, field services, and positioning and autonomy solutions.

The Location:This position is based in Calgary, Alberta and follows a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities

As a Field Applications Engineer - Agriculture, you will be responsible for these activities:

  • Provide technical assistance, customer training, demonstrations, and technical sales support.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentation materials to customers and industry partners.
  • Support agricultural events, field demonstrations, and trade shows.
  • Liaise with internal departments regarding technical matters and customer requirements.
  • Formulate and implement procedures and plans for resolving technical issues.
  • Perform software testing, verification, bug reporting, and field trial coordination.
  • Review technical documentation, manuals, and support materials.
  • Generate application notes, integration guides, and other technical content to support customers and expand team knowledge.
Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a technical discipline, or an agriculture-related field.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including international travel.
  • Home office located near a major airport.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in a technical customer support, sales, or similar industry role.
  • Understanding of precision agriculture and GNSS technologies, products, and services.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Jira, Python, or similar tools and programming languages.
  • First-hand experience with precision agriculture systems.
  • Experience supporting OEM customers, particularly within precision agriculture applications.
  • Experience with GNSS and INS installation and troubleshooting.Experience with CAN bus and/or ROS (Robot Operating System).
  • Exposure to electronics, hardware integration, software development, or sensor fusion technologies.
  • Crop production background or related agricultural experience.
