Job Details
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer medications in the patient's home, specialty clinics, and Physician Partnership clinic settings.
- Assess and monitor pre- and post-injection/infusion treatments as directed by program protocols.
- Complete necessary documentation based on policies, procedures, and standards such as those of the College of Nurses and Innomar ISO accreditation.
- Provide education to patients and caregivers based on product monographs and program protocols, either individually or in groups.
- Report adverse events, serious adverse events, and product complaints according to Innomar policies and training.
- Ensure reliable availability to meet the needs of the IBU and the Nursing and clinics KPIs, based on the employment agreement.
- Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including case managers, physicians, pharmacy, scheduling, and other departments to meet scheduling and treatment timelines.
- Coordinate with patients and caregivers to set up appointments and drug delivery to home and clinic.
- Participate in team web-based meetings and training sessions to maintain and enhance professional standards.
- Engage in specialized client-related training as required.
- Adhere to professional nursing standards as prescribed by professional associations and Innomar.
- Work collaboratively within the healthcare team, providing oversight and delegation to RPN/LPN as authorized.
- Travel within the designated IBU and surrounding IBUs to meet operational needs.
- Follow all nursing and clinic standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Comply with all health and safety standards per provincial regulations.
- Complete ongoing and annual education and training within specified timeframes.
- Perform other duties as required by Innomar.
- Be available on standby/on call as needed to meet service demands.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with relevant experience required.
- At least 1 year of IV initiation experience.
- Current registration with a licensing body and CPR certification.
- Experience in critical care, emergency, acute care inpatient/outpatient, or homecare settings.
- Assets include ACLS, PALS, MS, CVAA certifications, and central venous line/port experience.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and other relevant computer applications.
- Reliable internet access and mobile phone for communication and appointment management.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel within the designated area.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical distribution industry is an asset.
- Business and financial acumen is an asset.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal, organizational, time management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Valid, non-expired driver's license and insurance coverage.
The role involves daily contact with English-speaking customers, patients, and cross-functional team members.
