Job summary

Midwest Co-op is currently accepting resumes for the position of Agronomy Intern. Under the direction of the Agronomy Manager, the Agronomy Intern will provide hands‑on experience in crop scouting, sampling, and agronomic data collection, while assisting with field operations, grower engagement, and research initiatives.

The position offers exposure to a wide range of agronomic practices and technologies, contributing to both in‑field, operational, and office‑based tasks.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a college or university program in Agriculture or related field.
• Interest in crops, agronomy, and hands-on fieldwork.
• Willing to work flexible hours during busy season.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field scouting for weeds, crop staging, and insect presence across various crop types.
• Collect and process nitrate samples in corn field; monitor insect traps; take crop tissue samples for nutrient analysis.
• Input field map data into agronomy software systems; assist with data collection at research plots and MiField sites.
• Support grower engagement and field operations; assist with seed deliveries and fertilizer orders.
