Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies is seeking a Field Agriculture Heavy Equipment Technician for our Rocky View Agriculture branch in Alberta. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain tractors, hay tools, and other ag equipment, traveling to customer sites as needed and documenting field reports. Apprentices welcomed; Class 5 license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and the service team.
• Must meet physical demands (lifting up to 50 pounds).
• Heavy Equipment Technician or Agriculture Equipment Technician certification an asset.
• We will also consider apprentices registered under this trade.
• Experience in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining agricultural equipment.
• Class 5 Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, Repair & Maintain all systems on agricultural equipment (tractors, hay tools, etc.).
• Provide field service and travel to customers requiring diagnosis and repair.
• Repair or diagnose equipment at customer site if needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and tests.
• Recondition pre-owned equipment as needed.
• Record field reports and warranty information for service writer.
• Maintain communication with internal support to diagnose problems.
• Develop relationships with customers across Alberta communities.

Our Rocky View Agriculture branch is looking for an exceptional individual to join our service department as a Field Agriculture Heavy Equipment Technician for our Agriculture Division (John Deere).

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Diagnose, Repair & Maintain all systems on agricultural equipment such as Tractors, Hay tools, and other Ag & Turf implements. This includes engine, transmission, electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, guidance & precision ag systems, among others
• Provide mechanical support from the field and travel to customers requiring diagnosis and repair
• Repair, service, and/or diagnose agricultural equipment at the customer's site IF needed
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections, including fluid and various filter changes, testing of equipment, & adjustments for infield optimization
• Reconditioning of pre-owned equipment
• Accurately record field reports for the service writer for all work done, including warranty invoicing and records
• Maintain communication with internal support to quickly diagnose problems and provide solutions
• Develop relationships with customers in different communities in Alberta and build business in those communities

What We Look For

• Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel
• Must be able to meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control)
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Heavy Equipment Technician or Agriculture Equipment Technician certification an asset
• We will also consider apprentices that are registered under this trade too!
• Previous field tech or road tech experience would be a plus
• Basic to above average computers skills and a passion for problem solving
• Experience in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining equipment.
• Ability to complete detailed repair order notes on each job
• The desire to continue learning updated equipment technology as the industry continues to evolve
• Class 5 Drivers License
