Brandt Group of Companies in Trochu, AB seeks a Heavy Equipment Technician to diagnose, repair and maintain agricultural equipment including tractors, hay tools, and turf implements. You’ll perform on-site service when required and contribute to preventative maintenance and repairs, with emphasis on accurate job notes for warranties.

Qualifications

• Trade certification in Heavy Equipment or Agriculture Equipment tech is preferred.
• Apprentices registered under this trade will be considered.
• Prior field/road tech experience is a plus.
• Strong problem solving and basic computer skills.
• Ability to document detailed repair notes on each job.
• Willingness to learn evolving equipment technology.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair & maintain all systems on agricultural equipment including engines, transmissions, electrical, hydraulic, and AC.
• Repair, service and diagnose equipment at the customer's site when needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and tests; change fluids/filters and adjust for in-field optimization.
• Recondition pre-owned equipment.
• Accurately record notes on work orders for customer and warranty records.

Our Trochu, AB branch is looking for an exceptional individual to join our service department as a Heavy Equipment Technician (also known as an agriculture equipment technician) for our Agriculture Division (John Deere).

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Diagnose, Repair & Maintain all systems on agricultural equipment such as Tractors, Hay tools, and other Ag & Turf implements. This includes, engine, transmission, electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, guidance & precision ag systems among others.
• Repair, Service and/or diagnose agriculture equipment at the customers site IF needed
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections; including fluid and various filter changes, testing of equipment, & adjustments for infield optimization.
• Reconditioning of pre-owned equipment.
• Accurately record notes on work orders for customer and warranty records

What We Look For

• Heavy Equipment Technician or Agriculture Equipment Technician certification an asset
• We will also consider apprentices that are registered under this trade too!
• Previous field tech or road tech experience would be a plus
• Basic to above-average computer skills and a passion for problem solving
• Experience in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining equipment.
• Ability to complete detailed repair order notes on each job
• The desire to continue learning updated equipment technology as the industry continues to evolve
