Job summary

Intact Financial Corporation in Canada is seeking an expert in claims for home and auto with a strong customer-service focus to support clients after losses. You will analyze information, coordinate with specialists, and negotiate settlements, while collaborating with underwriting and legal teams.

A valid AMF license and bilingual French/English abilities are required. The role offers a hybrid work model with a comprehensive compensation package including benefits, pension, and an annual bonus

Qualifications

• Have a valid AMF license (5A).
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a claims adjuster (home/auto), with water or fire and commercial experience.
• Strong customer service orientation and written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented and able to work in a fast-changing environment.
• Strong technology aptitude and computer skills.
• Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel on short notice.
• Knowledge of insurance products.
• Bilingual French/English to handle English-speaking clients.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyze information to determine coverage in each situation.
• Assess potential liability of the insured and third parties with experts.
• Negotiate with clients, claimants, lawyers and insurers to settle claims within authority.
• Manage field tasks on behalf of internal claims experts.
• If needed, actively participate in claim management when volume is high.
• Collaborate with assessment, underwriting and legal services teams.
• Ensure costs are managed efficiently.
• Monitor current trends in products and evaluation/investigation techniques.

Ce que vous ferez :

• Évaluer et analyser l’information recueillie, les libellés d’assurance et les dommages pour déterminer ce qui est couvert dans chaque situation.
• Évaluer la responsabilité civile potentielle de l’assuré et des tierces parties en consultant des experts.
• Négocier avec les clients, les requérants, les avocats et les assureurs pour régler des sinistres, dans les limites de votre autorité.
• Gérer des tâches sur le terrain au nom des experts en sinistres internes.
• Au besoin, participer activement à la gestion des sinistres et du travail lorsque le volume est important.
• Collaborer efficacement avec différentes équipes, notamment celles de l’évaluation, de la souscription et des services juridiques.
• Veiller à la gestion efficace des coûts.
• Suivre les tendances actuelles en matière de produits d’assurance et de techniques et services d’évaluation et d’enquête.

Ce que vous mettrez à profit :

• Détenir un permis de l'AMF valide. (5A)
• Posséder au moins 3 ans d’expérience en tant qu'expert en sinistres route, avec une expertise particulière en sinistres causés par l'eau ou le feu, ainsi qu’en commercial.
• Faire preuve d'une passion pour le service à la clientèle et posséder de solides compétences en communication écrite et verbale.
• Autonome et orienté(e) vers les objectifs, capable de travailler dans un environnement en évolution rapide.
• Forte aptitude à la technologie avec d'excellentes compétences informatiques.
• Solides compétences en matière de résolution de problèmes et de dépannage.
• Avoir un permis de conduire valide et un bon dossier de conduite.
• Être en mesure de vous déplacer à court préavis.
• Bien connaître les produits d’assurance.
• Bilinguisme (français / anglais) – Nécessité de traiter des dossiers de réclamations d’une clientèle anglophone sur une base régulière.
