Job summary

Intact Financial Corporation in Canada is seeking an experienced road claims adjuster to join our growing team. You will evaluate and adjust property and casualty claims, focusing on road incidents, and help clients recover after a loss.

The role requires an AMF license, at least 3 years in road claims, bilingual French/English, and a readiness to travel on short notice. You will collaborate with underwriting, legal, and other specialists to settle claims fairly while controlling costs.

Qualifications

• AMF license (5A) valid.
• Minimum 3 years' experience as road claims adjuster, with water or fire and commercial exposure.
• Excellent customer service and written/spoken communication skills.
• Autonomous, goal-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-changing environment.
• Strong computer skills and tech proficiency.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Willing to travel on short notice.
• Solid knowledge of insurance products.
• Bilingual French/English for handling anglophone clients.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyze information, insurance labels, and damages to determine coverage.
• Assess potential liability of insured and third parties with experts.
• Negotiate with clients, claimants, lawyers and insurers to settle claims within authority.
• Manage field tasks on behalf of internal adjusters.
• Assist in claims handling when volume is high.
• Collaborate with evaluation, underwriting, and legal teams.
• Monitor cost management and efficiency.
• Keep up-to-date on insurance products and appraisal techniques.

Ce que vous ferez :

• Évaluer et analyser l’information recueillie, les libellés d’assurance et les dommages pour déterminer ce qui est couvert dans chaque situation.
• Évaluer la responsabilité civile potentielle de l’assuré et des tierces parties en consultant des experts.
• Négocier avec les clients, les requérants, les avocats et les assureurs pour régler des sinistres, dans les limites de votre autorité.
• Gérer des tâches sur le terrain au nom des experts en sinistres internes.
• Au besoin, participer activement à la gestion des sinistres et du travail lorsque le volume est important.
• Collaborer efficacement avec différentes équipes, notamment celles de l’évaluation, de la souscription et des services juridiques.
• Veiller à la gestion efficace des coûts.
• Suivre les tendances actuelles en matière de produits d’assurance et de techniques et services d’évaluation et d’enquête.

Ce que vous mettrez à profit :

• Détenir un permis de l'AMF valide. (5A)
• Posséder au moins 3 ans d’expérience en tant qu'expert en sinistres route, avec une expertise particulière en sinistres causés par l'eau ou le feu, ainsi qu’en commercial
• Faire preuve d'une passion pour le service à la clientèle et posséder de solides compétences en communication écrite et verbale.
• Autonome et orienté(e) vers les objectifs, capable de travailler dans un environnement en évolution rapide.
• Forte aptitude à la technologie avec d'excellentes compétences informatiques.
• Solides compétences en matière de résolution de problèmes et de dépannage.
• Avoir un permis de conduire valide et un bon dossier de conduite.
• Être en mesure de vous déplacer à court préavis.
• Bien connaître les produits d’assurance.
• Bilinguisme (français / anglais) – Nécessité de traiter des dossiers de réclamations d’une clientèle anglophone sur une base régulière.
