Job summary

Heartland Fertility and Gynecology Clinic is seeking a full-time Clinic Nurse (RN or LPN) to support patients in the ART program. You will be the primary contact for patients, provide information, support and empathy, and coordinate care with physicians, embryologists and administrative staff.

Responsibilities include assisting procedures (IUIs, egg retrievals), administering medications, interpreting lab results, teaching patients, and maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, ideally in women’s health.
• Must be registered with the Manitoba College of Registered Nurses or the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and in good standing.
• Current BCLS
• Current PHIA
• Experience using EChart and EHub would be an asset.
• Experience working with an EMR, preferably Accuro.
• Ability to multitask while also focusing on details in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and care for patients and their partners/families in the ART department programs.
• Daily communication and collaboration with clinic teams including physicians, embryologists, and administration.
• Patient teaching and education through various media and in person.
• Assist and perform procedures in the clinic and procedure room, such as IUIs and egg retrievals, including IV insertion and blood draws.
• Communicate lab results with appropriate interpretation and explanation.
• Support patients and families through ethical decisions during treatment.
• Provide emotional support and grief counselling and connect resources as needed.
• Engage in continued education to improve the program for patients and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy.
