Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking a Fence Labourer to join our team in Calgary, AB. This continuous posting supports ongoing hiring as needed. You will organize fencing materials, assist with inventory, and help move equipment in a fast-paced yard environment.

Requirements include 1–2 years in related roles, a valid Class 5 license with a clean abstract, ability to lift 50 lbs, and comfort working outdoors in varying weather. Training and safety gear are provided.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of related work experience in fence/scaffolding or general labour.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean/satisfactory abstract (≤3 demerit points).

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain fencing and equipment in the yard and warehouse for efficient flow and access.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with inventory reconciliation.
• Keep the facility clean and organized to support smooth equipment movement.
• Safely load and secure temporary fencing for transport and unload at sites or branch yard.
• Assist with loading/unloading other construction equipment as needed and deliver/install/remove fence at customer locations.

Perks!*** Competitive salary, with overtime available* Excellent benefit package with premiums paid by the company* Uniform, safety boots/shoes, safety gear provided* RRSP Match* Safety-minded organization* Stable, year-round employment* Continuous training, learning and development opportunities* Fun-loving work environment with strong social responsibility **What You’ll Be Doing** *Duties and Responsibilities:* * Organize and maintain fencing and equipment in the yard and warehouse to ensure efficient flow and accessibility.* Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with inventory reconciliation.* Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the facility to support smooth equipment movement and operations.* Safely load and secure temporary fencing for transport (and unload at jobsites and when returned to the branch yard).* Assist with loading and unloading other construction equipment as needed.* Deliver, install, remove, and pick up construction fence at customer locations in a safe and timely manner (often involves manually carrying fence panels a distance from the truck to the installation spot)* Clean fencing when it returns from customer jobsites.* Inspect equipment for damage upon return and notify supervisor or branch manager of damaged or broken fence materials.* Identify and report potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions.* Safely operate equipment following all company policies and procedures.* Coordinate with teammates at the branch to resolve inventory or order issues.* Assist with the delivery of small tools and equipment to job sites for our general construction equipment branch when required.**What You’ll Bring to the Team** *Qualifications and Requirements:* * 1-2 years of related work experience in a Fence / Scaffolding Labourer, General Labourer, Yard Coordinator, or similar role is preferred.* Valid Class 5 driver’s license required, with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points). You’ll be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.* Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.* Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.* Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools is an asset.* Forklift license or experience operating forklifts and/or other construction equipment is preferred.* Knowledge of construction tools, equipment and materials would be an asset.* Familiarity with inventory systems, shipping/receiving, and warehouse best practices is an asset.* Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.* Highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.* Self-starter, very customer-service oriented and works well in a team environment.* Curiosity to learn new things & understand more about construction equipment and the rental industry.* Comfortable with computers/technology (for filling out inspections, inventory management, etc.) Want to learn more about career opportunities at Cooper Equipment Rentals?
