Job description

Job Title: Paint Line Operator

This position is responsible for operating the production site paint line and assisting the primary machine operator on other workstations. Responsibilities include loading and unloading parts, operating, troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance on the Powder Coat painting system.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to detailed specifications, work instructions, manufacturing information, and supervisor instructions.
  2. Operate Dynamic Machine Management software (DMM) and drawing search software (Enovia, Vault, etc.) for fabrication purposes.
  3. Manage inventory of powder paint and related supplies.
  4. Load and unload products, ensuring conveyor to part continuity.
  5. Inspect final products for quality parameters such as cosmetic appearance, coverage, cure, adhesion, and thickness.
  6. Monitor wastewater treatment systems, including startup and shutdown procedures.
  7. Prioritize jobs based on deadlines and supervisor guidance.
  8. Perform regular maintenance as per TPM schedules on equipment including powder booths, pre-wash, and wastewater treatment systems.

Work Schedule: 3:30 pm to 12:00 am

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Operate machines such as shearing, punching, and bending following training and procedures.
  • Conduct pre-start safety checks and report concerns.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance.
  • Set up machines to ensure safety guards and interlocks are functional.
  • Monitor machine operations to prevent jams and ensure proper lubrication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of fabrication experience with shearing, punching, or bending machines.
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada; no sponsorship provided.
  • Residence within 80 km of Milton, ON.
  • Ability to read drawings and layouts; proficient in MS Office.
  • Commitment to safety and multi-project environment.
