Job summary

The Creative Destruction Lab is seeking a Platform Lead to drive the CDL platform build in Canada. This senior technical leader will own architecture for backend, data ingestion, and the public portal, and will coordinate with PT and external vendors to deliver on schedule.

Responsibilities include setting security and privacy controls, enforcing data standards, and ensuring the platform is AI-ready and compliant with national standards. Remote-friendly, up to 21 months, 1.0 FTE engagement.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, software engineering, data engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years leading technical development and delivery of data platforms or comparable systems.
• Experience procuring and managing technical service providers and integrating externally delivered components.
• Proven success managing multi-stakeholder projects across government, industry, and academic participants.
• Strong grounding in distributed or federated data architecture, API-oriented and cloud-native design, and cloud infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of security, privacy, and compliance for a federally funded national data asset.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end technical architecture of the federated platform, including hub nodes, integrations, portal services, and APIs.
• Lead the build of backend infrastructure, ETL pipelines, and the front-end portal.
• Procure and manage technical service providers delivering components on schedule.
• Contribute to the standards stack and data quality conformance.
• Set and enforce security, privacy, and compliance posture for data residency and access.
• Ensure FAIR data principles and AI-ready pipelines.
• Coordinate with working group to inform architecture and conformance decisions.
• Provide technical leadership to the delivery team and vendors.
• Create runbooks and onboarding guides for future PT integration.
