Senior Feature Designer - EA SPORTS

EA SPORTS is one of the leading sports entertainment brands in the world, with top-selling videogame franchises, award-winning interactive technology, fan programs, and cross-platform digital experiences. EA SPORTS creates connected experiences that ignite the emotion of sport through industry-leading sports video games, including Madden NFL football, FC Soccer, NHL hockey, and EA SPORTS UFC.

As a Senior Feature Designer, you will bring your deep knowledge of systems, gameplay, and economies to an exciting new title. You will report directly to the Creative Director.

Responsibilities

  • Support the game vision as set by the Creative Director
  • Define feature design guidelines and best practices
  • Architect interconnected open world game systems
  • Articulate risks, wins, and tradeoffs with a clear understanding of the system goals
  • Work with other leadership within Design to ensure your designs support AAA moment-to-moment gameplay
  • Work with gameplay teams to elevate and reenvision core controls and concepts into new experiences
  • Provide and receive critique in a constructive and efficient manner
Qualifications

  • 6+ years experience shipping AAA projects as a Designer with experience delivering deep and rich feature designs and game systems in action-oriented gameplay
  • Experience writing detailed design documentation for features, tools, and balancing content
  • Experience using a range of game production content tools for systems and data, such as Unreal Engine, Frostbite, Unity, or other proprietary tools
  • Experience implementing feature updates and balance changes in a live environment for games-as-a-service titles
  • Self-assess risk, time, and scope
  • Outstanding collaboration skills, driving towards the best possible outcomes
  • A functional understanding of and enthusiasm for American Football
Compensation And Benefits

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).

PAY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) * $107,600 - $147,100 CAD
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
