JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties:

  1. Monitors the day-to-day operations of meter data management systems within FDO to ensure processes relating to meter events and the collection of data from smart meters and other field devices are executing in accordance with the schedules and Standard Operating Procedures and in compliance with service level agreements.
  2. Identifies exceptions, manages incidents, and conducts front-line troubleshooting by analyzing meter and device data generated by a variety of tracking tools and database systems, and identifying potential sources of exceptions and/or failures using established troubleshooting routines, documented workflows, and previously encountered patterns.
  3. Initiates incident tickets for exceptions and failures, implements prescribed fixes if within front-line troubleshooting parameters, and escalates to higher-level MDM Analysts or designated specialists in accordance with established priorities by exception or failure type. Receives and responds to incoming tickets.
  4. Applies established validation and estimation rules and routines to estimate interval and other meter data to ensure accurate data is presented in response to stakeholder requests for data. Compiles and distributes standard reports (on system performance, historical meter read data, statistics, and activities) on a regular and ad hoc basis to internal managers and colleagues and to external stakeholders such as Customer Service Operations.
  5. Provides input into new or revised Standard Operating Procedures to assist in identifying potential conflicts with existing operations routines. Identifies newly recurring patterns in meter data exceptions encountered through troubleshooting activities, and escalates to higher-level Analysts for further analysis.
  6. Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties that do not affect the rating of the job.

Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge of data management systems, advanced spreadsheets, and common business software applications is typically acquired through completion of a Diploma in Business Administration, Computer Science, Math, or a relevant field; or through an equivalent combination of experience, training, and education.
  2. Additionally requires two (2) years of demonstrated work experience in data management and analysis with exposure to metering systems, processes, routines, and procedures or equivalent.
  3. Must be familiar with large information systems; file and data management; file transfer and processing protocols.
  4. Requires advanced skills in Excel. Strong skills in Access, Visio, and query tools required.
  5. Candidate may be required to complete Electrical Fundamentals as well as in-house training in the Itron meter data management system.

Our four role types identify the degree of flexibility an employee could have to work from home based on the type of work they do. The flexibility for an individual job is up to the manager for each position and the operational requirements. Employees also have the right to work full-time from the office if they prefer. All of our roles require at least some in-person time.

IBEW/Field - No option to work from home
Resident - Works primarily (4+ days per week) in the office.
Hybrid - May be able to work from home up to 3 days per week.
Remote - Works from home 4+ days per week.
